Guide to your mobile phone's GPRS configuration

There are two ways of connecting to the Internet from your mobile phone.
The first option gives you all the advantages of a full Internet connection.
The other one is more limited and is used to browse the net. It is called WAP.

You MUST have a full Internet or GPRS connection before you can use 10pText.
Please call your mobile provider to make sure that you have a GPRS connection.
A WAP connection won't help you.
On many mobile phones it is possible to set up more than one connection setting.

For example, a Sony Ericsson T610 from Orange will be delivered with six lots of data connection settings:

WAP (ignore for 10pText)
MMS (ignore for 10pText)
GPRS WAP (possible for 10pText)
GPRS Internet (yes)
PAYG GPRS WAP (possible for 10pText)
PAYG GPRS Internet (yes)

Unfortunately, due to worries about high GPRS tariffs the device manufacturers implemented a policy where the users must agree to allow GPRS connectivity through 3rd party applications.

In order to ensure that network connectivity is always allowed please do the following:

(1) Go to “Games & apps” folder where the application was downloaded
(2) Highlight application and click options
(3) Select “Permissions”
(4) Select “Network Related”
(5) Select “Connectivity Options”
(6) Select “Never Ask”

The pop up message should now go away but we have found that this does not always work.

If this doesn’t work you will unfortunately have to agree to the connection at least once per session by selecting “Yes, ask once” upon the first connection attempt from within the application. Thereafter the application/phone will not ask for connectivity confirmation.
